Personalized Care: You are our first priority
An automobile accident can cause physical and emotional trauma. In addition to your suffering the stress involved with insurance companies and paperwork often makes a bad situation feel worse. At Natural Wonders Healthcare, we understand what you are going through. We will work with your attorney or insurance adjuster and provide you with personalized mind/body care so you can focus on the most important thing, your healing.
Our experienced acupuncturists will listen to your concerns with compassion, ask you detailed questions about your injuries, perform a thorough physical evaluation, write a health report for your attorney or insurance agency, and craft a comprehensive treatment plan so you can begin your recovery.
Gentle Acupuncture Care…and Much More
Acupuncture is an effective method of recovering from common auto accident related injuries. However, there are other modalities that, when combined with acupuncture, often produce tremendous healing benefits beyond acupuncture alone. Using multiple modalities to aggressively treat inflammation, a major component of healing, is what makes us different than most other personal injury clinics. We offer various healing techniques geared towards inflammation down to a cellular level to produce optimal results. This means the likelihood of full recovery can increase and your recovery time can be shortened
Many Ways To Heal: Our patients recieve multiple modalities
Acupuncture: Acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, and/or micro-current are used to facilitate tissue healing, obtain myofascial release, and control pain.
Acupressure/Tuina/Massage: Therapeutic stretching and strengthening exercises restore functional biomechanics, obtain myofascial release, and relax tense muscles and trigger points.
Far Infrared Heat: Far Infrared heat is used to open up capillaries to promote local circulation, relax tight muscles, and to help facilitate pain relief.
Nutritional support: We are acupuncturists and herbalists. We use pharmaceutical grade nutritional supplements called nutraceuticals. With therapeutic grade supplements, prescribed to you by our licensed professionals, you will heal from the inside while our treatments initiate healing from the outside. This dual approach produces better results than just having body work done. Herbal support is key when inflammation is chronic and lodged deep within the body or when multiple health conditions contribute to slow recovery.
Cupping: To reduce pain and tension, obtain myofascial release, and ameliorate inflammation.
Herbal Salve: Thick, rich, Chinese herbal salve, which looks like black peanut butter, containing over 15 herbs is applied topically at the inflammation site then bandaged. Our unique herbal poultice helps reduce local pain and inflammation.
Gua Sha (Referred to as Rolfing or Coining in the West): Soft tissue manipulation technique to obtain myofascial release, break up scar tissue, and alleviate tense muscles.
Whiplash Patho-Physiology: Head, neck, shoulders, back, arm
When a part of the body is whipped back and then forward beyond its normal limits, micro-tears can develop in the surrounding ligaments. Yet many accident victims don’t notice any pain at first. It’s not until the micro-tears start to swell that the symptoms set in, including:
- Blurred vision
- Neck pain
- Shoulder pain
- Reduced range of motion in the neck
- Arm pain
- Neck stiffness
- Low back pain
Soft-tissue injuries like whiplash can take a long time to heal. In studies, it has been observed that more than 70 percent of people who visited the emergency room after a car accident were still in pain six weeks later. Other researchers have noted that nearly half of whiplash sufferers continue to experience symptoms three months later, while 25 percent remain symptomatic for six months. Without proper treatment, some injuries can continue to cause pain for years. As soft tissue injuries heal, they develop scar tissue.
It is possible to seek acupuncture treatments after an auto accident even if it appears days after your accident. Injuries can and do occur in low and moderate impact collisions. The most common injury is whiplash (or neck injuries). Whiplash can occur in sudden changes of speed of only 2.5 miles per hour, with minor back injuries also possible.
Soft Tissue Pain: Soft-tissue injuries may take months to fully heal. Acupuncture treatments can often provide pain relief much quicker. Some car accident victims report up to an 80 percent reduction in discomfort after just a few short weeks of acupuncture care.
Mobility and Range of Motion: The soreness and stiffness from a motor vehicle injury can inhibit movement. Our acupuncturists will help you get moving again as quickly as possible so you can regain full range of motion before scar tissue develops.
Support long-term healing: The muscle weakness resulting from a car accident can leave patients vulnerable to re-injury. Acupuncture care involves therapeutic modalities that improve flexibility and strengthen the muscles surrounding the spine. We also use therapeutic grade nutritional supplements that work on promoting healing on a micro-level from the inside.
